Marie Ann Frantum, 78 of Woodward, Iowa passed away with her family at her side on Sunday, July 6, 2014. Marie was born April 1, 1936 in Bouton, Iowa to Vayne G. and Viva B. Hutt Amis. She married Larry Frantum on May 6, 1956 and together they built a life on their family farm. Family and community were the most important things in Marie's life. She was a passionate supporter of her grandchildren, attending every sporting and school event in which they participated. She loved spoiling her children and grandchildren, often driving hours to deliver warm treats (most especially rhubarb pies). She could also always be counted on to provide support if there was an illness or need in the community. Marie had many interests and hobbies. She loved genealogy and spent many hours researching and discovering interesting facts about her and Larry's ancestors. She enjoyed traveling across the country to view family records and resting places. Many friends and family have enjoyed her crocheted projects over the years. She also enjoyed bowling and golf and was the first woman to get a hole in one at the Woodward golf course. She was very active in her church. She taught Sunday and Bible School and chaired countless committees over the years. Marie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Larry Frantum, 3 children, Karen (Ed) Osenbaugh of Gilbert, Jim (Robin) Frantum of Woodward and Marla (Bunny) Frantum of Adel, 8 grandchildren, Chelsea, Betsy, Ben and Hayley Osenbaugh, Megan and Cody Frantum and Dallas and Austin Sheldahl, her sister Anna Mae Seemann, sister-in-law Pat Brobst of Perry, brother-in-law Harold (Jeanne) Frantum of Des Moines, and many other family and friends.
