Marie the daughter of Carl Lester and Elda Marie (Polesky) Hass, was born May 13, 1938, and was baptized in the Lutheran faith. She grew up in Russell, Minnesota where she obtained her high school degree. Marie went to the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for more education. She worked at the Denison Hospital and Denison Medical Surgical Associates until 1992. On November 11, 1958, she married Erdman Marshall, and they were blessed with a daughter Vicki Ann. The family lived in Kiron, Iowa. Marie worked full-time and helped with the farming when needed. She loved to go fishing every chance she got. When she wasn't out fishing, she spent time with her daughter in many school activities. In May of 1988 Erdman passed away from cancer. Marie found love again when she married Roger Mohr in October of 1991 and moved to Vail, Iowa. She retired from the medical field December 1, 1994. She began working for RM Distributors and enjoyed a variety of jobs. She got to go to antique tractor shows and many toy shows as a vendor. Marie assisted with the printing of the Minneapolis Moline Corresponded Magazine and was a member of the MM Collectors Club. She also enjoyed going on occasional tractor rides. Roger passed away on June 15, 2000. Marie had many hobbies like crocheting, counted cross-stitch, knitting, quilting, and extensive travel. In May of 2005 Marie married James Hogge and they moved to Jamaica, Iowa. She was a board member of the Jamaica Public Library, and continued to assist with publishing the MM Corresponded Magazine and going to toy and antique tractor threshing shows. The best part of her life was watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. Marie passed away at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison on March 28, 2023 at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; three husbands: Erdman Marshall, Roger Mohr, and James Hogge; niece Cherri Hass; and brother-in-law Reverend Major James Alford. Marie is survived by her daughter Vicki Marshall Leinen; stepchildren: Eugene Mohr (Karen), Marten Mohr (Betty), Gaylen Mohr (Lynette), Sue Hogge, and Tony Hogge; grandchildren: Isaac Leinen, Claire Leinen, Lindsey Schnoor (Troy), Kristy Willenborg (Nick), Justin Mohr (Sara), Ryan Mohr (fianc Emily Schroer), Michael Mohr, and Mallory Mohr; great-grandchildren: Michelle Mohr, Blake Grothe, Macy Willenborg, Brinley Willenborg, and Callahan Mohr; special family: Steven (Holly), Kylie, Stephanie, and Alyssa Kloucek of Omaha, Nebraska; brothers: Roland Hass of Russell, Minnesota, and Earl Hass (Frances) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; sister Patricia "Pat" Alford of Juliet, Tennessee; nephews: Reverend Dr. Scott Alford, Mark Alford and Cary Hass; nieces: Leslie French and Tonya Hass; great-nieces; great-nephews; other relatives, and many friends. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church in Vail Iowa, for Marie Elda (Hass) Marshall Mohr Hogge. Words of comfort by Rev. Dr. Scott Alford of Germantown United Methodist Church, Germantown, Tennessee. Her casket bearers were Isaac Leinen, Justin Mohr, Ryan Mohr, Michael Mohr, Kristy Willenborg, Lindsey Schnoor, Mallory Mohr and Claire Leinen. Her honorary casket bearers were Michelle Mohr, Blake Grothe, Macy Willenborg, Brinley Willenborg, Kylie Kloucek, Stephanie Kloucek, Alyssa Kloucek and Callahan Mohr. The organist Ruth Noelck played the congregational hymns Amazing Grace and The Old Rugged Cross. Lunch was served at the church before going to the burial in the Crawford Heights Memorial Garden, Denison, Iowa.
