Marilyn Jean Scott, 68, passed away July 6, 2016 at her home in Grimes, Iowa. A celebration of life service will be from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 28 at Lifehouse Community Church, 3201 99th St, Urbandale, IA. Marilyn was born November 28, 1947 in Hamburg, Iowa to Wilbur and Stella (Hutsell) Lewis. She graduated from Hamburg High School in 1966. After high school she moved to Omaha, Nebraska and met Guy Scott. They were married on August 23, 1969 in Hamburg. In 1998 they moved to Grimes. She retired from Meredith Corporation in 2005. Marilyn was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved puzzles, basketball and most of all her family. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Guy; son, Jeff (Christina) Scott; grandchildren, Vada, Reina and Gracie Scott; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Herbert Lewis.
