Marilyn Winebrenner, of Winterset died Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset. She was 82. No services are planned, as per Marilyn’s request. Memorials may be directed to the family. Marilyn Jean Griffin, daughter of Thomas Raymond and Ruby Mae (Eitel) Griffin, was born March 25, 1933 in Kirksville, Missouri. She graduated from Jasper High School in Jasper, Arkansas. Marilyn was united in marriage to Allen Winebrenner in August of 1953. Marilyn worked as a secretary for Lang Manufacturing and later was a homemaker raising her two children and she also sold Avon. Marilyn loved antiques and owned two antique business; one located on East 14th Street in Des Moines and another in Valley Junction. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Des Moines and the American Legion Auxiliary in Winterset. Marilyn loved her dogs, enjoyed gardening and crocheting, but above all else, she was a devoted wife and mother who loved nothing more than the time she spent with her family. She is survived by her children, Kirk Winebrenner of Winterset and Brenda Hardin (Ron Hacker) of Des Moines. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, a sister, a nephew, Paul Griffin, and two nieces, Carolyn Siemer and Kathy Griffin.
