Marilyne Hanson

Marilyne Yvonne Hanson of Johnston passed away on February 6, 2017 surrounded by her family. Marilyne was born April 5, 1931 in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Herman and Bonnie Hansen. She devoted most of her career to hospice and nursing. Marilyne was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother with many hobbies and friends. Marilyne was preceded in death by her husband, Neil; her son, Dan and her sister, Valarae Magnus. Marilyne is survived by her three children and three grandchildren: Kristin Hanson of Johnston, grandson, Drsean Anania; Scott (Sherrae) Hanson of Ankeny; Karen (Severino) Massaro of LaMesa, CA, grand-daughters, Jaime and Briana; and daughter-in-law, Chantell Violett of Des Moines. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Unity Church of Des Moines 414 31st St. Science Care was the recipient of her body donation. Memorials may be given in her name to Unity Point Hospice.
