Marion K. Smith, 62, of Lorimor, died Monday, November 17, 2014, at his home in Lorimor, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 22nd at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset with burial to follow in the Lorimor Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m., Friday, November 21st at Ochiltree Funeral Service, in Winterset, where family will be present to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family for later distribution and online condolences may be made to the family at ochiltree.com. Marion Keith Smith was born September 26, 1952 in Creston, Iowa, the son of Wesley and Norma (Green) Smith. He grew up in Lorimor, Iowa and graduated from East Union High School. Marion later graduated from Southwestern Community College with a degree in Mechanical Drafting. He worked most his life in retail and managed two Circle B hardware stores, Payless Cashways, and the Family Center and worked at the Community Care Center now West Bridge Care and Rehabilitation, where he met his wife Mary. Marion married Mary (Kerns) Smith, August 14, 1999, in the Lorimor City Park. Marion loved to hunt and travel with Mary on his motorcycle. He was a talented woodworker and made many pieces for his family. Marion stayed busy tending to his garden and his chickens but above all he cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Mary Smith of Lorimor; father, Wesley Smith of Lorimor; children, David (Meredith) Smith of Silverthorne, CO, Andrea Smith of Lorimor, Corey Smith of Grimes; step children Justin (Julie) Neas of Kellerton, Rebecca (LeRoy) Lilly of Winterset, Jonathan (Jill) Neas of Urbandale; grandchildren, Caleb, Liberty, Caden, Brennlyn Smith; Clayton, Brody, Jackson, Joshua, Jaime, and Jeffery Neas; Samantha and Emma Lilly; siblings Patty (Bill) Koob of Russellville, AL, Marvin (Roxanne) Smith of Conway, Janell (Dennis) Chenoweth of Afton; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Marion was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Smith in 2007 and son, Dustin Smith in 2011.
