Marion Louise Wind Knight, daughter of Burchard Wind and Matilda Probst Wind, was born August 22, 1918 on a farm near Cooper, Iowa and died October 23, 2005 at the Jefferson CLC in Jefferson, Iowa at the age of 87 years, 2 months and 1 day. Marion grew up in rural Jefferson and graduated from Copper Consolidated High School with the Class of 1934. After high school Marion went to Chicago where she received her Registered Nurse training. On October 24, 1959, Marion was united in marriage to Kenneth Harmon Knight. They were the proud parents of one son John. They made their home in Jefferson. In July of 1947, Marion went to work at the Greene County Medical Center where she worked for 34 years as an CRNA Anethesist. Marion retired in August of 1981. Marion loved reading, doing crossword puzzles and traveling. She especially loved her grandchildren. Marion was a member of Abundant Life Ministries in Jefferson. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth in 1985, her brother: John E. Wind, and a nephew John Wind. She is survived by her son John W. Knight and his wife Debra of Jefferson; 3 grandchildren: Melodie Knight of Jefferson, Jennie Winger and her husband Travis of Jefferson and Nathan Knight of Johnstown, Colorado; 3 great-grandchildren: Elijah Knight, Heidi Winger and Callie Winger all of Jefferson; her sister: Helen Jones of Jefferson; her sister-in-law: Billie Wind of Jefferson; nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
