Marjorie Hoag Bruder

Marjorie Marie Hoag Bruder passed away on the 17th day of November 2020. She was a long-time resident of Windsor Heights, Iowa. Marge was born June 11, 1928 in Skelton Township outside of Barnum in Carlton County, Minnesota. During the war she moved to Minneapolis with her parents. Upon graduating from high school, she enrolled in business school and went to work at the telephone company where she rose from a tabulation job to supervisor. With a head for numbers, she also worked as a bookkeeper and then in tax preparation before retirement. She advocated for better education and even became president of her local P.T.A. When not working she did double duty raising her children and caring for her family. She enjoyed extensive travel in her later years with her husband in their recreation vehicle. Marge is survived by her children Allen (Heather Kerr) of Louisville, CO; Susan of Marion, OH; Thomas of Windsor Heights, IA; Carol Hemphill (Todd) of Urbandale; grandchildren John (Anna), Steven, Carson Hemphill, Lindsay Hemphill; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and in-laws. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Minnie (Wilhelmina) Hoag (nee Buelow); husband Clarence of 67 years; sisters Dorothy Bell and Marilyn Klouda; great-grandson Austin and in-laws. In lieu of flowers, Marge's family knows she would prefer charitable contributions to those in need or your local food bank. A memorial service for Marjorie will be planned for a future date with inurnment at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa.
