Martha Neidt

Martha M. Neidt of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, April 30, 2016. She was 91. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, followed by a private burial. Memorials may be made to UPMC Senior Communities Benevolent Care Fund (200 Lothrop St., Forbes Tower, Suite 1005, Pittsburg, PA 15213 / www.upmcseniorcommunities.com). Martha Marie Arizona was born January 27, 1925 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Thomas and Hazel (Mooney) Arizona. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1943 and earned a full scholarship to Iowa State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. She married Charles O. Neidt and they lived in Lincoln, Nebraska, and then Fort Collins, Colorado. An accomplished cook, Martha enjoyed entertaining friends as well as her husband’s associates and grad students from Colorado State University. She was also known for her excellent sewing skills. Martha volunteered in the community, notably as a Cub Scout and Brownie leader for her children’s troops. In addition, she was a member of the Ft. Collins chapter of PEO. She is survived by her four children, Heather Schweder of Davis, CA, Bill (Kyle) Neidt of Centennial, CO, Mary Tesch (Mike Cunningham) of Anchorage, AK, and Nanci Case (Michael Augustine) of Wexford, PA; eight grandchildren, Alex Schweder, Amanda Schweder Guyer, Becky Tesch, Lindsey Neidt Baudoin, Chad Neidt, Andrew Case, Nicole Case Nance, and Mathew Case; and six great-grandchildren. Martha was preceded in death by her husband.
