Marvin Gene Crabtree

Marvin Crabtree, age 85 of Perry and formerly of Redfield, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Madrid, IA. Memorials will be given to the Dallas County Ambulance Service and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Online condolences may be left at www.carrisfuneralhome.com. Marvin Gene Crabtree was born on February 3, 1937, at Woodward, IA to Harold and Catherine (Paige) Crabtree. He attended school at Luther, IA. He was united in marriage to Judith Loreen Riley at Madrid, IA on May 24, 1986. He worked as a union carpenter in Des Moines and farmed near Redfield. Marvin enjoyed hunting, 4 wheeling, and being in the outdoors. In death he rejoins his parents, Harold and Catherine Crabtree, son, Michael Crabtree, grandson, Damion Louk, brother, Gary Crabtree, and a sister, June Eppert. Left to cherish Marvins memory are his wife Judy Crabtree, children, Deanna (Robin) Kudrna, Yvonne Crabtree, and Craig Crabtree, stepchildren, Tonja (Richard) Sims, Wayne Simmons, Bamia Simmons, and Holly Simmons, 4 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Correne Barrett and Arlene Battani.
