Mary Ann Erwin, daughter of John Henry Fischer and Mary Elizabeth Emberling Fischer, was born on February 3, 1933 in Perry, Iowa and died September 22, 2008 in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 75 years, 7 months, and 19 days. Mary Ann grew up in Perry and graduated from Perry High School. She married Hershel Erwin on September 18, 1952 at the First United Methodist Church in Perry. They were parents of four children, Denise, Donita, LaRoyce, and Hershel James. She joined Hershel after he entered into the Air Force, following him in his tours of duty. They returned to Perry, where she worked for Oscar Meyer for 16 years, and then became a housewife. Mary Ann enjoyed her dog, Foxy and was known to many as a social butterfly. She also enjoyed being a Foster Grandparent for the Woodward-Granger School District. She was a member of The Moose, and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hershel; brother, John Fischer; grandchildren, Alan Borror, Carol Borror, Kristi Miller, Joshua Erwin, and Christopher Murphy. Mary Ann is survived by her son, Hershel James "Jim" Erwin (Bethany) of Panora, Iowa; daughters, Denise Borror (Craig) of Piqua, Ohio, Donita "Deiter" Miller (Robert) of Woodward, Iowa, and LaRoyce "LeRoy" Janssen (Tracy) of Woodward, Iowa; grandchildren, Brian Borrow (Leigh), Andy Miller, Casey Janssen, Cody Janssen, Joseph Erwin, Linda Martin (Steve), and James Lease; great-grandchildren, Makayla Janssen, Trey Murphy, Lincoln Barrow, Asher Barrow, Aiden Janssen, and Kayleene Martin; other relatives and many friends.
