Graveside services took place at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, IA, on Friday, September 2nd, 2016 at 1:30 PM with words of comfort being provided by pastor Rick Gates; family and friends are welcome to attend. A gathering of friends and family will be held immediately afterwards at the Hotel Pattee Lounge. Mary Ann Fenelon, 78, passed away on August 26, 2016 in Tallahassee, FL. Mary was born in Adel, IA on November 18, 1937. She lived in Perry, IA for most of her life and worked in healthcare at Woodward State Hospital School for 28 years. She had three children from her first marriage to the late Harold Edwards and one child from her second marriage to the late William Fenelon. She enjoyed bowling, following stock car racing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, bingo, Elvis, and keeping up with her family. She was a member of the Eddie Miles Fan Club and the American Legion Auxiliary Association. Her life was characterized by her love and compassion for everyone and everything. No person or animal was too lost, too hurt, or too small for her loving attention and help-everything she ever had she willingly gave to anyone in need. She is survived by her brother Lewis Atkins of Jamaica, IA, her son David Edwards (Gwen) of Manteca, CA, her daughter Sheryl Clouse (Kelly) of Tallahassee, FL, grandsons Adam Edwards of Petaluma, CA and Vincent Burkhart of Harcourt, IA, great-grandson Alex Burkhart of Harcourt, IA, and nephews John Atkins (Celestina) of Harker Heights, TX, Pat Atkins (Jennifer) of Perry, IA, and Cory Atkins (Richele) of Perry, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents Nile and Vera Atkins, brother Ray Dean Atkins, son Dale Edwards and daughter Debra Burkhart. Hasting Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of these arrangements.
