Mary Ann Seeman

Mary Seeman, age 82 of Woodward, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at her home in Woodward. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Perry. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary held at 7:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery at Dallas Center, IA. Memorials will be given to St. Patricks Catholic Church and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Mary Ann Seeman was born on September 20, 1940, at Grimes, IA to Russell Weaver and Margaret Ann (Toigo) Smith. She graduated from the Assumption Catholic School in Granger. She was united in marriage to James Carl Battani at Assumption Catholic Church in Granger, and they later divorced. She later married William Seeman and they were divorced also. She worked as a resident treatment worker at Woodward Resource Center for 30 years. Mary was a very devout Catholic. She was member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Granger for 81 years and recently transferred to St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Perry and was very active in her church and church activities. She enjoyed gardening, then taking pictures of her flowers and posting them on Facebook. Mary loved cooking and spending time with her family. She enjoyed feeding birds that came to visit her garden. When she wasnt gardening, she watched her favorite teams, the St. Louis Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Iowa Hawkeyes. In death she rejoins her parents, Russell and Margaret Smith. Left to cherish Marys memory are her children, Lisa Battani, Perry, IA, and Jeffrey (Kim) Battani, Ankeny, IA, grandchildren, Zachary (Amber) Battani, Pleasant Hill, IA, Matthew (Joanna Frankford) Battani, Ankeny, IA, Kathryn (Blake Brewer) Battani, Woodward, IA, Mia Battani, Iowa City, IA, Kaylee Battani Iowa City, IA, Heather (Ryan) Hoyme, Woodward, IA, Bradley Fuson, Clive, IA, great grandchildren, Brayden Andorf, Liam Hoyme, Callum Battani and Payton Clark, siblings, Janet (Jimmy) Greif Dallas Center, IA, Betty (Jim) Tamisiea, Phoenix, AZ, Larry Smith Littleton, CO, John (Kathy) Smith, Burlington, IA, and Monica (Brad) Lawrence, Woodward, IA.
