Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of arrangements for Mary Jane Farley, 84 of Perry who died April 30, 2012 at her rural home in Perry. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at St Patrick Catholic Church. Mary Jane Farley Daughter of Charles Fries and Lena Biesel was born August 21, 1927 near Perry, Iowa in Boone County and died April 30, 2012 at her rural home in Perry, Iowa. Mary was 84 years old. Mary graduated from Rippey High School in 1945. She married Harold Farley July 29, 1946 at St Patrick Catholic Church in Perry. They lived in Perry for three years and then moved to their present farm north of Perry. They were blessed with 65 years of marriage. Mary and Harold loved farming. She worked beside him all of their married lives. Mary was a faithful and active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Regina Guild. For several years she drove the HIRTA bus and was dearly loved by her passengers. Harold and Mary were members of the Star Promenaders Square Dance Club. She enjoyed people, visiting in person and on the telephone. Mary also enjoyed journaling, gardening, flowers, and sending many, many cards. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Elmer, and her husband Harold on October 10, 2011. Mary is survived her son Harold Farley Jr. (Angie) of rural Perry, and daughter Diana Miller (Ron) of Buffalo, Missouri, eight grandchildren: Chris (Kelli) Farley of Wichita, KS; Julie Darnell of Buffalo, MO; Gayle (Dale) Colbert of Roland, IA; Scott (Kami) Miller of Buffalo, MO; Tina (Todd) Peitzman of Perry, IA; Christy (David) Dickson of Grain Valley, MO; Susan (Drew) Keith of Buffalo, MO; and Debbie (Scott) Daniels of Monrovia, CA; and 20 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law Doris Mitchell (Jeffrey) of Florida, Harold's Aunt Bernita Farley of Ladysmith, WI and other relatives and many friends.
