Mary Lee Anderson

Mary Lee Anderson was born on September 1, 1942 in Jefferson, Iowa to James Marks and Loraine Doris (Derry) Marks. She grew up with 8 brothers and sisters. They lived in Kansas until she was 13 years old, then to Long Beach California. Mary graduated from Poly High School in 1959. On May 14, 1971 Mary and Donald Richard Anderson were united in marriage in Cerritos, California. They were blessed with two daughters Connie and Julie, and a son Dean. Mary and her family lived in Hacienda Height, California; Flagstaff, Arizona; Jefferson, Iowa; Perris, California; Phelan, California; Hesperia, California; Missouri, Utah, and back to Jefferson, Iowa. She enjoyed watching church programs and preachers on the TV, since she grew up with a father as a pastor. Mary liked reading books, watching funny animal shows, and watching car shows. She passed away on June 20, 2024 at St Anthony's in Carroll. Mary is preceded in death by her parents James and Loraine; brothers Richard Marks and Jim Marks; sisters Shirley Sparks and Jean Wyman; and sister-in-law Kay Marks. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald Anderson of Carroll; daughters Connie Pasos (Dave) of Lake Havasu, Arizona and Julie McAleer (Scott) of Scranton; son Dean Barnard (fianc Rachelle) of Washington State; five grandchildren: Mike Bayer (Brittany) of California, Tiffany Spinner (Joey) of Virginia, Kyle McAleer of Scranton, Steven Barnard (Misty) of Washington State, and Christopher Barnard (Tara) of Washington State; five great-grandchildren: Maddie, Sophia, Haiden, Michael, and DG; two brothers: John Marks (Cheryl) of Palestine, Texas, and Randy Marks of Springfield, Oregon; two sisters: Joan Hadden of Ft. Mohave, California, and Sharon Henrichsen (Charles) of South Carolina; sister-in-law Debbie Marks of Moore, Oklahoma; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson was in charge of arrangements.
