Mary was born June 14, 1934 in West Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Opal (Cooper) Hartman. She first married Richard Carter and later married Lester Johnson. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Hartman, mother, Opal Hartman Huddleson, step-father, Otis Huddleson, her son, Greg Carter and a sister, Viola Mae Younker. Mary was a homemaker and loved camping and fishing with her husband, Les. Mary is survived by her husband Lester Johnson of Rock Springs, WY; a daughter-in-law, Connie Carter of DeSoto, 2 brothers, Dale (Kate) Hartman, Steve (Beccy) Hartman both of Winterset; a brother-in-law, Les Younker of Waukee; two grandchildren, Sarah Black and husband, Chad; Travis Carter and 3 great grandchildren, Dylan, Dustin and Dalton Black. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Winterset Cemetery, Winterset, Iowa Service: Memorial contributions may be directed to Middle River Hospice, Madison County Home Health Care and the Winterset Care Center South Activity Fund. Memorial: Noon to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Collins Oak Park Chapel
