Mary Theresa Wiemann

Mary Theresa Wiemann, beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the age of 86, in the comfort of her home in Urbandale.

Visitation for Mary will be on Monday, June 5, 2023 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3663 66th Street, Urbandale.  The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at the church.  Burial will take place in Glendale Cemetery.

She was born on October 10, 1936, in Des Moines, Iowa, to her loving parents, Henry and Gretchen (King) Wiemann.

Mary was a founding and devoted member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, where she found solace and strength in her faith.  She had a deep connection to her spirituality and made it a priority to attend daily mass.

Known for her sweet tooth, Mary had a weakness for chocolate, but Mary's giving nature extended beyond her love for sweets.  She had a heart full of compassion and always went out of her way to help others.  Mary was generous helping others in need and with her time, freely offering advice.  Mary's "no fuss" approach to Christmas was a testament to her easygoing nature and her ability to focus on what truly mattered - the company of loved ones and the spirit of giving.

Mary met with friends each morning, after mass, for breakfast, companionship and conversation.  Mary enjoyed being apart of a lunch group that met every Friday and shared weekly Sunday dinners with the Duran Family.  She valued these connections and cherished the sense of community they provided.  A true social butterfly.

Throughout her professional life, Mary served as a corporate secretary for the Continental Western branch.  Her dedication, attention to detail, and strong work ethic made her an invaluable asset to the company.

Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and warmth.  She will be deeply missed by many friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church in Mary's memory.
