Matthew Mazan

Matthew Walter Mazan, 53, of Des Moines, passed away after a long, hard fought battle on Friday, January 21, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. Matt was born on January 21, 1969 in England to Paul and Cecile (Ford) Mazan. He graduated from Montezuma High School in 1988. Over the years he worked at NB Golf Cars, Home Depot and most recently, ICS Logistics. Matt enjoyed spending time on the computer making and editing his own videos on his YouTube channel. He was also very skilled with his hands whether it was a woodworking project or making repairs. He was a true fixer-upper and was always the one to call when something broke. He was also a big history buff and loved to learn about old antique firearms. He liked to watch Sci-fi, westerns and historically accurate military movies. Overall, Matt loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. Matt is survived by his wife, Beth; children, Quinton (Talia Lerner) Mazan, Jarod Mazan and Austin Mazan; father, Paul Mazan; and sister, Wendy (Chris) Cook. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cecile Mazan. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home and Crematory with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Des Moines. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery near Boone.
