Mehl M. Bequette

Service: Memorials may be directed to the family. Memorial: A Memorial Gathering will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Patterson Community Building where the family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. There will be no services or viewing since Mr. Bequette has been cremated. Mehl is survived by his children, Gary Bequette of Wichita, KS; Dan Bequette (Florian) of Childress, TX; Linda Steinbock of Mission, KS; Jay Bequette (Julie) of St. Charles; Marti Christenson (Ty) of Greenfield; a sister, Evelyn Thomas of Liberty, MO; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Charles, Joseph and two infant brothers. Mehl Matthew Bequette was born February 19, 1932 in Blackwell, Missouri, to Joseph and Bertha (Pratt) Bequette. Mehl married Joan Kruse and to this union three children were born. He later married Pat Tharp on December 23, 1964 and to this union two children were born. During his working career, Mehl worked as an electrician mainly for commercial jobs. He was employed by AMF which later was purchased by Western International and he retired from Martin Marietta. Mehl enjoyed gardening and fishing. Mehl died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the Winterset Care Center North. He was 77.
