Melody Ann Minshall

Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of arrangements for Melody Minshall, 60, of Perry. Melody died June 15, 2015 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2015 at the First Christian Church in Perry, Iowa. Melody Ann Minshall, daughter of Leonard Summy and Leona Swearengen Summy was born March 2, 1955 in Dexter, Iowa and died June 15, 2015 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa at the age of 60. Melody grew up in Dexter and went to high school in Adel, Iowa. She lived many places throughout her life including California, North Carolina, Linden and Perry. In July of 1988 Melody and Dean Minshall were united in marriage in Adel, Iowa. She had six children: Jennifer, Aaron, Sean, Jeremiah, Sara and John. She worked as a cook, at Monarch and Des Moines Water Works as a computer technician. Melody loved building computers from scratch, photography and most of all her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Perry. Melody was proceeded in death by her parents and brother Mike Summy. Melody is survived by her husband Dean Minshall of Perry, children Jennifer Becker (James) of Des Moines, Aaron Becker (Sara) of Kansas City, Sean Becker (Kim) of Des Moines, Jeremiah Minshall (Sherry) of Adel, Sara McGinnis (Layne) of Des Moines and John Holman (Nichole) of Hartford; twenty grandchildren: Jakob Mains, Kaleb Mains, Zoe Avon, Dominic Avon, Drew Minshall, Tanner Minshall, Allie Minshall, Brandon Minshall, Alex Chiles, Blake Holman, John Holman Jr., Bonnie Becker, Olivia Becker, Sabrina Becker, Moriah Becker, Kenzie McGinnis, Cassie McGinnis, Codi McGinnis, Elizabeth Fisher and Kody Fisher; brother Kelly Summy (Kathleen) of De Soto and sister Kathy Hastie (Bill) of De Soto. Memorials can be sent to the family for future designation.
