Merle John Johnson

Merle John Johnson, 84, of Des Moines passed away on January 18. 2016 at Taylor House Hospice. A celebration of life will be held in May 2016. Merle was born on May 31, 1931 in Rural Watertown, South Dakota to Emil and Frances Johnson. He married Eyvonne (Bonnie) White on March 8, 1952 in Madison, WI. Together they had 3 Children. Merle worked as a Carpenter in Sioux Falls, SD. He enjoyed woodworking, playing pool, bowling, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his 3 children; Melvin (Mary) Johnson, Dawn (Don) Nelson, Judy Johnson, son-in-law; Ron Schulte, grandchildren; Nathan (Becky) Johnson, Sarah (Ryan) Brockman, Michael Johnson, Jamie (Tyler) Formaro, Nick (Megan) Nelson, Jason (Chrystal) Schulte, Eric (Kurah) Schulte, Brian Schulte, great grandchildren; Sabrina, Mya, Alissa, Jordan, Audrey, Jillian, Landin, Owen, and Everly. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and 11 brothers and sisters.
