Michael "Mike" Proctor

Michael “Mike” Proctor, 72, of Urbandale died on November 9, 2022.

Mike was born to Morey and Mary (Gagen) Proctor on August 13, 1950 in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Dowling Catholic High School in 1968. Mike had a 50 year career at Proctor Mechanical, retiring as owner/CEO. He served on the Board of Directors with ABC of Iowa for many years, serving as the chairmen for one of those years.

Mike was united in marriage to Sally Hook on November 22, 1970. He took great pride in all of his kids and grandkids. He loved watching his grandkids participate in all their activities. He was actively involved in his own kids’ activities being a soccer coach for many years.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of almost 52 years, Sally Proctor; their children: Jason Proctor, Sean Proctor, Tom (Amy) Proctor, Therese (Tim) Yoder, Stephen Proctor, Michael (Jill) Proctor, Clare (Michael) Rasmussen, Bridget (Brian) Baker, Mary (Cullen) Wurzer. His 14 grandchildren: Ethan, Ashley, Braeden, Elizabeth, Brady, Corben, Hayden, Harper, Natalie, Declan, Dayton, Thomas, Ansley, and Teagan, sisters Ann Button, Mary Pat (Roger) McMahon, and Meg (Jeff) Tyler, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Catherine; his parents, Morey and Mary Proctor, brother, Joe; in-laws, Muggs and Harold Wright, Ken and Ruth Hook, and brothers-in-law, Bob Hook and Jim Button.

Mike leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and sarcasm. He will be profoundly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 14, 2022, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale. With a Rosary at 12:45 PM. Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery.
