Michelle Lynn Gooch

Michelle Lynn Sponsler Gooch ended her time here on earth on April 1. Michelle was born in Des Moines, Iowa on April 7, 1970 to Rex and Janet Stripe Sponsler. She attended Des Moines schools, graduating from Hoover High with the class of 1988, however, spent part of her sophomore and junior years at Hudson High School in Florida, where she lettered in softball. Michelle married Marty Gooch on February 12, 1992. However, they were divorced in 2020. She loved puppies, making jewelry, books, puzzles, collecting angels and stickers. And she had a passion for detailing cars. Michelle is predeceased by her grandparents, Millard and Gladys Stripe, Kenneth and Margaret Sponsler, Uncle Donald Stripe, Aunt Patricia Sponsler, and her beloved dog Miley. Those left to cherish her memory are her father and mother, Rex and Janet, brother Marty Sponsler (Michelle Mattson), Uncle Gary Stripe (Sandy), Lee Sponsler, Brent Sponsler (Julie), Aunts Barbara Stripe, Becky Stripe, Wendy Mericle (Todd), many cousins and of course her four-legged best friend, Teddy. A celebration of life open house will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at the Lions Park Shelter House, 72nd Street and Prairie Avenue at 4103 72nd Street, Urbandale.
