Mike Sheehy

Hastings Funeral Home is caring for Mike and his family. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4th, 2016, with the service immediately following at 7:00 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home where Mike's family will be present to greet friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Mike's name to his family. Michael Floyd Sheehy peacefully passed on April 24th, 2016, after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer, at home with loving family by his side. Mike was born July 4th, 1960 in Perry, Iowa, the son of Donald Joseph Sheehy and Darlene Mae Merical. Mike graduated from Central Dallas High School in Minburn, IA in 1979. Mike was a loyal and hardworking employee who worked at Stine Seed for 18 years, followed by Hyline International for 15 years. Mike was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, camping, bonfires, boating and watching a good thunderstorm. Mike was very generous and kind hearted. He will be mostly remembered for his quiet strength and ornery sense of humor. Mike was preceded in death by his father Donald, mother Darlene, and sister-in-law Gladys. Mike is survived by his wife, Susan, two sons: Cody (Carrie) Sheehy of Minburn, IA, Shane (Tawny) Sheehy of Perry, IA and Stephanie (Ivan) Guerra of Altoona, IA. Ten Grandchildren: Jack, Roman, Trinity, Raelan, Jazmine, Aurora, Gabriel, Marcus, Jacob, and Kaitlyn; Siblings: Cathy (John) Blake, Donnie Sheehy, David Sheehy, John (Gladys) Sheehy, Jean (Mike) Bowles, Tom (Margie) Sheehy And Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
