Eloise Alice Roberts, daughter of Richard Seth Lindsay and Eva Surber Lindsay, was born on April 29, 1919 on a farm near Dallas Center, Iowa and died June 5, 2013 in Perry, Iowa. Eloise attended country school in Dallas County. Eloise was united in marriage to Norman S. Roberts on February 20, 1937 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter by the Reverend Kurt Diab after meeting Norman at a dance. The couple made their home in the Boone County area. Eloise worked as a clerk at a grocery store in Dallas Center and as a medical aid at the Spurgeon Manor. The couple enjoyed fishing vacations at Leech Lake in Minnesota, attending pre-season Cubs ball games and wintering in Arizona and Florida. They truly enjoyed attending the Roberts Family Reunions. Eloise loved to read and one favorite was the "Iowa Magazine". Eloise was truly dedicated to her family, church and friends. She took good care of all those she loved. Eloise was also a dedicated volunteer and was always concerned for the well-being of those around her. At her church she loved teaching Sunday school, preparing church bulletins, watering plants faithfully and doing whatever was needed. Her love and interest for children led to the appropriate choice of her memorial to the Noah's Ark Pre-school at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Eloise loved her neighbors and particularly one neighbor's dog, Mia. For over 30 years at the Perry Lutheran Home Eloise volunteered as the designated mender for the residents clothing. Eloise is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Eva; husband Norman on March 27, 1987; brother Eldon Lindsay and sister Rowene Madren. Eloise is survived by her sister: Arlene Noack of Martensdale, IA; nieces: Zelda Paullin (Jim), Shirley Gardner (Mike), Sally Thomas (Tommy), Linda Jensen (Allen); nephews: James Clausen (Vivian), Tom Madren, Lyle Roberts (Vicki), Jerry Madren (Judy), and Lori Wolber (Mark), Lannie Lindsay, Jody Rosenbeck, Carol Murphy (Dennis), Janice Fraser (John) and Kathryn Raw (Mike) and other relatives and many friends.
