Mrs. Hazel Jane Evans

Hazel Jane Evans, daughter of Homer Dale Hawkins and Dimple Faye Wann Hawkins, was born October 21, 1927 in Danville, Illinois and died November 25, 2014 at the Perry Lutheran Home at the age of 87. Hazel was united in marriage to Ernest Dean Evans and the couple was blessed with two children Clyde and Patty. The family moved to Salem, Illinois then to Champion, Illinois. Hazel was a stay at home mom. Hazel was preceded in death by her mother Faye Hawkins, father Homer Hawkins, husband Ernest Evans, and brothers Ralph Hawkins, David Hawkins and Roy Hawkins. Hazel is survived by her son Clyde Evans and wife Sharlyn of West Des Moines, Iowa; daughter Patty Gardiner and husband William of Tilton, Illinois; five grandchildren: Alycia Foelker and husband Andy of Madison, Wisconsin, Stephanie Evans of West Des Moines, Iowa, Chris Evans of West Des Moines, Iowa, Jimmy Bryant of Danville, Illinois and Shelly Norton of Danville, Illinois; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister Mary Linne of Carolina Beach, North Carolina; other relatives and many friends. Hastings Funeral Home in Perry was in charge of arrangements. Interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery in Danville, Illinois at a later date.
