Mrs Linda Herlinda Cubillo

A Mass of Christian Burial for Herlinda Cubillo was held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry with Father Paul Nguyen as Celebrant. A Rosary was held 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the St. Patrick Catholic Church. The Lector was Rosa Gonzalez Christina Calderon. Casketbearers were Lorenzo Cubillo, Juan Cubillo, Javier Cubillo, Gabriel Cubillo, Francisco Cubillo, Andres Cubillo and Antonio Meraz. Musicians were Jan and Jay Pattee and Ushers were Joe McCarty and Bob Rounds. Interment was at the St. Patrick Cemetery in Perry. Following the service was a luncheon in the St Patrick School Gym. Linda (Herlinda) V. Cantu, daughter of Genoveva Villarreal and Felipe Cantu Cano was born July 14, 1960 in San Juan, Texas and died March 6, 2014 at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa at the age of 53 years. Linda lived in San Juan until she was four years old and then the family moved to Bakersfield, California where she attended Wayside Elementary, Golden State Middle School and then Bakersfield High School. Linda worked many years in the wineries of California and also as a housekeeper for the Sheraton Hotel Corporation. On April 26, 1990 Linda married Lorenzo Cubillo and the couple had three sons, Juan, Javier and Gabriel. On August 13, 2004 the couple was married again in a religious ceremony at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Bakersfield, California. In 2007 the family moved to Perry, Iowa where Linda worked in the safety department of Tyson Foods. Linda loved to fish and casino bingo. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and taught catechism for many years until and still was at the time of her death. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers Miguel Cantu and Jose Luis Cantu. She is survived her husband, Lorenzo; sons Juan, Javier and Gabriel Cubillo all of Perry; one granddaughter, Abagail; brother Juan M. Cantu, Corcoran, Ca. Felipe D. (Anna) Cantu, Bakersfield Ca., sisters Guadalupe (Jose) Martinez, San Diego, Ca., Blanca (Francisco) Cubillo, Fresno, Ca. www.hastingsfh.com
