Myrajane Marie Pinckert

Funeral Services for Myrajane Marie Pinckert will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2023 at the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson. Burial will take place in the Jefferson Cemetery. Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson is in charge of these arrangements. Myrajane Marie Pinckert, daughter of Francis Lea and Myra Kovar Lea, was born October 28, 1933 in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from John Adams High School in 1951. She played the flute and the piano. Myrajane and Jack Monroe Pinckert were united in marriage on June 21, 1952 in South Bend, Indiana. Within the following year, Jack was drafted by the Army and sent to Korea for two years. Myrajane worked as a dental assistant. She enjoyed needlepoint and sewing. Following Jack's return from Korea, the couple was blessed with four sons Rick, Gary, Brian, and Ken. Myrajane briefly took guitar lessons together with her eldest son, Rick. In 1968 the family moved to Jackson, Mississippi, and in 1972 the family moved to West Branch, Iowa. Myrajane occasionally worked as a secretary. In 1984 Myrajane and Jack moved to Jefferson, Iowa. Myrajane was co-owner with her husband Jack, and office manager of Hydraulic Fabricators in Jefferson. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson and she and Jack served on the board of directors for Meals on Wheels for 20 years. Myrajane died on November 19, 2022 at Mountain Vista Retirement Community in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 years, Jack, her two brothers Bob Lea and Francis Lea, grandson Shaun Pinckert, and daughter-in-law Suzi Pinckert. Myrajane is survived by her sons Rick Pinckert of Golden, Colorado, Gary Pinckert (Becky) of Palmer, Alaska, Brian Pinckert (Linda) of Oviedo, Florida, and Ken Pinckert (Mary) of Everett, Washington; six grandchildren: Greg Pierce (Lyndzie), Lindsay Bledsoe (Matt), Kelli McKinley (Josh), Matt Pinckert (Adina), Elizabeth Williams, and Sherry Williams; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
