Myron Glenn White, age 76, died peacefully and surrounded by his family on March 6, 2021 at his home in Bondurant, IA. Myron was born on July 29, 1944 in Monticello, IL to Alva and Lois Turney White. His family later settled on a farm outside Bloomfield, IA. After graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1962, Myron attended Iowa State University for a year and a half majoring in mathematics and chemistry. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1968 on the U.S.S. Cogswell gunboat and received two Vietnam service medals, and a letter of commendation presented by the ship’s captain on behalf of the U.S. Navy. It was during this time he met the love of his life, Charyl Sue Hugeback of Portland, OR, and they married on December 30, 1967 after one year of long-distance letters and only seeing each in person a total of four times and falling in love forever. He settled on the White family farm shortly thereafter and formed White Brothers Dairy with wife Sue and youngest brother Dale and wife Jackie, where together they worked hard, struggled through tough times, and raised their families for 40 years. During their farming years, White Brothers was ranked 10th in the state for all-size Iowa dairies, received the Superior Quality Milk Award 20+ years, and was named to the 200 Bushel Club with their highest yield of 266 bushels in 1994, among many other distinctions. After retiring in 2010, Myron and Sue moved to Bondurant near their youngest daughter where they enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, friends, neighbors, eating at Pizza Ranch, and taking care of his lovely country property. A skilled and artistic welder, Myron was also known for being a math whiz, his ornery sense of humor, embellished storytelling, hatred of crowds, love of good gossip, watching sentimental movies, swearing as an artform (which he passed on to his children), an unwavering work ethic (also passed on to his children), and colorful nicknames. Myron is survived by wife Sue “Charlie” of Bondurant, IA, children Susan “LVP” White of Apache Junction, AZ, Aaron “Bo” White (Jani “CJ”) of Chippewa Falls, WI, Kali “Fluffy Princess” VanBaale (Troy “TroyRay”) of Bondurant, IA, grandchildren Miranda “Nickel” Graves, Kati “Logan” Cook, Drake “Big D” VanBaale, Seth “Sethy/Myron” VanBaale, and Gauri “Miss Garfield” VanBaale, five great-grandboys, and brother George “Peeg” White (Martha “MarthaAnn”), Dale “Dillard” White (Jackie “Jackson”), and Gail “Blondie/Sis” (Stephen P) Tarbell, and many nieces and nephews, also with lifelong nicknames. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and an infant brother, William. Myron’s final wish was to be cremated and to have military services at the West Grove, IA cemetery informal and private at a later date because, you know, he hated crowds. To quote a favorite family movie The Princess Bride, as you wish, Dad. As you wish. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warrior Project.
