Myron James 'Dean' - Adel

Myron Dean James, 79, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at Sunnybrook of Adel. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday September 1 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel with the memorial service immediately after at 11 a.m. A private family burial of Dean and Shirley's cremated remains will be at Oakdale Cemetery at a later date. Dean was born May 6, 1933 in Redfield to Leonard and Ruth James. He married Shirley Dauer March 22, 1974. He spent many years driving his own semi over the road an also for Bar Nunn. He enjoyed gardening, horses, playing cards, dancing, and his grandkids. He is survived by his children, Mike (Anita), Bill (Deb), AJ (Kim), Ken (Venea), Diana Burzlaff, Roger, Tammy Young, and daughter-in-law Penny James; step-children, Donna (Dennis) Donnelly, Ron (Terri) Gilley, Carla Dauer, Linda (Gary) Grady, and step-daughter-in-law, Anna Gilley; sister, Carol Piatt; sister-in-law, Betty James; 28 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss his quiet smile. He was preceded in death by his wife; sons, Doug and Daniel; step children, Pamela Beenken and Bill Gilley; brother, LaVerne; and sister, Doris Miller. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
