Nancy Carol Wright

Nancy Carol Wright, daughter of Norman A. Petersen and Lila Ranniger Petersen, was born September 29, 1946 in Harlan, Iowa, and died May 17, 2008 at the Greene County Medical Center, Jefferson, Iowa, at the age of 61 years, 7 months, and 18 days. Nancy attended school in Irwin and received her GED in 1988 when her daughter Sandy received her High School diploma. She had been confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin. Nancy married Dennis Brandenburg June 12, 1968. They were parents of two daughters, Sandra Renne and Sara Lea. They lived in Coon Rapids, Carroll, Story City and later in Churdan. She married Gerald Wright in 1989. Nancy was a nurse's aid at Bethany Manor in Story City and then at the Bayard Care Center. She had also done housekeeping for others. Nancy's health began to fail due to COPD and Osteoporosis and she could no longer work. During her illness Gerald was her caregiver. Nancy loved cats, enjoyed dining out and reading. She was a gifted writer and has many short stories to her credit. nancy was preceded in death by her father and infant daughter, Sara Lea. She is survived by her daughter Sandy May and husband Lee of Jefferson; her loving caregiver, Gerald Wright; mother, Lila Petersen of Harlan; brother, Richard Petersen and wife Pam of Aurelia; sisters, Connie Davis and husband Randy of Harlan; and Donna Hollister and husband Lorren of Council Bluffs; nieces; nephews; other relatvies and friends.
