Nelda Beeler

Nelda Beeler, 83, of Peru, died Friday, January 15, 2021 at Winterset Care Center North in Winterset. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 22, 2021, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Winterset Chapel. Family will greet friends following the service. Please follow social distancing guidelines and face coverings are required. Nelda has been cremated and burial will be at a later date in the Ebenezer Cemetery near Peru. Memorials may be directed to the Peru United Methodist Church. Nelda was born on March 13, 1937, in Osceola, Iowa to Dale and Mary (Allison) Swan. She graduated from Truro Consolidated High School in 1956 and was married later that year to Larry Beeler on December 22. To this union were born five children. Nelda had been a homemaker and worked as a school secretary for I-35 High School. She was a member of Sweet Adelines and was active in her church. Nelda was happiest surrounded by family and friends. She was always ready to share her love by preparing food for anyone that asked. We’re all thankful that she kept the cookie jar full! Nelda is survived by her children, Don (Becky Kerr, MD) Beeler, Larry (Lynne) Beeler, Gary (Laura) Beeler, and Becky (Steve) Koerwitz; brothers, Ed Swan and Dale Swan; and grandchildren, Lauren Beeler, Hannah Beeler, Grant Beeler, Hallie Beeler Havard, Madison Beeler, Forrest Beeler, and Bradley Koerwitz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Mary (Allison) Swan; husband, Larry Beeler; son, Dale Allen Beeler; and sister, Louise Beeler. The family wishes to thank the staff of the following for the love, care, and concern they gave to Nelda: Madison Square Assisted Living, Winterset Care Center North, and Suncrest Home Health and Hospice.
