Neva Marie Sirdoreus - Norwalk

Neva Marie Sirdoreus, 85, of Norwalk, Iowa, died Monday, July 8, 2013 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 13, at McCalley - Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor Joel Andrus officiating. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery. Neva was born on April 23, 1928, at Nodaway, Iowa to James and Lela (Harrison) Herrick. She was married on August 27, 1948 at Earlham, Iowa to Roscoe "Rocky" Sirdoreus. She had spent most of her life living in Norwalk having been a sales clerk at the former Younkers Department Store in Des Moines, then doing janitorial work and helping in the kitchen at Norwalk High School. She also found time to be a homemaker. Neva had been a member of the Martensdale Community Church in Martensdale. Neva is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Bill) Watkins of Norwalk, Sondra Battin of Norwalk and Betty Faith of Des Moines; brothers, Charles Herrick of Winterset, Paul Herrick of Perry, David Herrick of St. George, Utah, and Dean Herrick of Farmington; sister, Charlotte Drake of Creston; grandchildren, Jonathan Armstrong, Brad Armstrong, Randy Battin, Matt Battin, Becky Kennard, Nicole Pasutti and Nathan Pasutti; great grandchildren, Jeremy Armstrong, Kimberly Armstrong, Katelyn Armstrong, Blake Armstrong, Hattie Armstrong, Brandon Battin, Dallas Kennard, Troy Kennard, Alexa Kennard, Summer Pasutti, Dominick Pasutti, and Taylor Miller; and great great grandchildren, Zoey Armstrong and Vincent Watkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lela (Harrison) Herrick; and husband, Rocky Sirdoreus. Visitation will be Friday from noon to 8 PM at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM. Memorials may be directed to her family for a future designation.
