Nora Lee Long

Nora Lee Long was born October 11, 1966 in Greenwood, Mississippi. She fell in love with Clifton Mark Long and the two were united in marriage on June 1, 1984 at the Leflore County Courthouse. Nora went back to school and got her GED in 1985. Nora and Clifton were blessed with two sons Brian and Marcus. She worked as a cashier in Mississippi and took care of her family. In 2009 the couple came to Jefferson, Iowa and renewed their vows in Nora's mom's (Annie Coil) backyard for their 25th Anniversary. They decided to stay in Iowa and Nora started working at The Gardens in Jefferson as a CNA. She enjoyed reading, doing needle point and diamond paintings. She died May 16, 2023 at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her mother Annie Laurie Coil (2022), and her stepfather Russell Coil. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 39 years, Clifton Mark Long of Jefferson; sons Brian Long and Marcus Long both of Jefferson; brothers Rickie Tingle of Grand Junction and Michael Coil (Ashley) of Jefferson; sister Carol Christy of Jefferson; aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews, other relatives, and many friends. A Celebration of Life Service was held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson.
