Norma Jean Hull

Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of arrangements for Norma Jean Hull, 86, of Perry. Norma died July 30, 2021 at her home. Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2021 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry. A private family burial will follow. Norma Jean (Nicholas) Hull, daughter of Norman Nicholas and Ella Mae Robinson Nicholas, was born June 3, 1935 in Rippey, Iowa and died July 30, 2021 at her home in Perry, Iowa at the age of 86. She started school in Rippey until the 2nd grade, then to Dawson until the 5th grade, and Jamaica where she graduated from high school in 1953. Norma and Howard Keith Hull were united in marriage on September 11, 1954 in Dawson and again on September 12, 1954 in Jamaica. Howard loved her so much he married her twice in one weekend! The couple moved to California after Keith was discharged from the United States Navy. They started a family, first was John Michael, Randy Keith, Diane Ruth and then Daniel. The family moved back and forth from California to Iowa for several years. Then in 1980 they decided to come back to Iowa and make it their forever home. Norma worked as a babysitter, walked beans, Woolworths, Black Knight Caf, Lankershin Lodge, and at the Perry Lutheran Home. She loved crocheting, knitting, puzzle books, and camping with her family. Norma was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Ella Mae Nicholas, grandparents Roy and Eva Robinson, her husband Keith Hull, brothers Wayne, Bill, Bob, and Ed Nicholas, and sister Alice Naylor. Norma is survived by her children: John Michael Hull of Woffard Heights, CA, Randy Hull (Debbie), Diane Lansman (Tim) and Daniel Hull all of Perry; sister Donna Young of Sylmar, CA; brothers: Dan Nicholas (Pat) of Daytona Beach, FL, Harold Nicholas of St Joseph, MO, and Frank Nicholas (Arsenio) of Elizabeth, NJ; grandchildren: Alyssa Schultz (Derick), Jared Hull (Carolina), Clay Hull, Brandon Hull (Alexis), Tiffany Hull, Keeley Hull, Justin Hurt (Linda), Travis Hurt, and Brent Lansman (Tara); great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Schultz, Leon Hull, Bella Hull, Kaylea, Mekenna, Brooklyn Alexander, Jace Coleman, Brinley, and Max Lansman,; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and many friends.
