Norma Jean Kopf

Norma Jean Kopf, 93, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Walnut Ridge care center in Clive, Iowa from complications of Influenza.

Jean was born October 7, 1931 in Riverside, Iowa, the daughter of John Edward and Ethel May Wingler. She graduated from Riverside High School in 1949 then attended Iowa City Commercial College. She married Robert Kopf on October 4, 1952. She was employed at Peoples Trust and Savings Bank in Riverside for 32 years and at the University of Iowa Foundation in Iowa City for 8 years. She also served as the Riverside City Treasurer for a number of years. She lived in Riverside until 1991 when she and her husband moved to Iowa City. In 2023 she moved to the Walnut Ridge facility in Clive, Iowa where she received excellent care.

Jean enjoyed traveling and participating in many clubs including the Red Hat Society, Knee Knockers (for those who had knee replacements) and others. She loved talking to people and would make friends wherever she went. Above all else, she adored her grandchildren and delighted in watching them grow up.

Jean is survived by son Michel Kopf of San Diego, California; son Barton (Rhonda) Kopf of West Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren Annika (Kenyon) Immeker, Kyle Kopf, Hunter Kopf and Kaci Kopf; great grandchildren Noah Immeker and Colton Kopf. She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews who were also very special to her.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert in 1992; son Keith Bradley; sisters Lura Sutton, Nita Rath, Aletha Duder and Vaida Streb; brothers Daryl Wingler and Clayton Wingler.

Jean requested that no services be held. Burial will be in the Lone Tree, Iowa Cemetery.
