Norma Mansor Dise (85) passed away at Perry Lutheran Home-Eden Acres in Perry, Iowa. A visitation is planned for November 6, 2024, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory (8201 Hickman Rd. Urbandale Iowa, 50322) from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 7th, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi (7075 Ashworth Rd. West Des Moines Iowa, 50266) at 10:30 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Interment will be held at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes, Iowa, at 1:00 p.m.
Norma was born in Polangui Albay, Philippines. She was the only daughter of the late Juanito Mansor and Fredesvinda Saberon.
She was a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. Additionally, she pursued more education at Delmarva Beauty Academy and San Francisco International Skin Care. She owned and operated The Oriental Touch Hair, Nail and Skin Care Salon for 35 years on Eastern Shore Drive in Salisbury, MD.
She was a choir singer at Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church and was a member of the professional Women's Club, Salvation Army, Happy Timers and Maryland Adult Center. Norma was active in the Filipino community of Salisbury where she sang and danced as an entertainer at various festivals and senior centers. She was a popular singer at the Manila Hotel and modeled for commercial products and fashions in the Philippines.
She is survived by four children: Emilio (Barb) Mendoza of Grimes, IA; Norman (Maritza) Mendoza of Jacksonville, FL; Sharlene Kona of Winston Salem, NC; John (Kathy) Mendoza of White Plains, MD; and several grandchildren: Tessa Mendoza of Boulder, CO; Isabel Mendoza of Des Moines, IA; Gionn (Maria Cristina Kasandra) Mendoza of Jacksonville, FL; Mia and Luca Huff of Charlottesville, VA; Brandon Mendoza of Shamokin, PA; Jade, Christian, Vernina, James and Milan Mendoza of White Plains, MD; Devon, LaDaysha, Lavon and Summer Simpson of White Plains, MD.
