Norman Reed Hall was born July 9, 1926 at Des Moines, Iowa the son of John and Margret Harvey Hall and died June 24, 2011 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa, at the age of 84 years. Norman lived with his grandparents on a farm near Norwood, Iowa and attended the Puckerbrush School #3 in Lucas County. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the US Marines on January 18, 1944 and served until his discharge as a corporal on May 4, 1946. Norman was stationed at Okinawa, Ryukyus Islands and the occupation of China. On August 31, 1957, Norman was united in marriage with Rosemary Arnold in Fremont, Nebraska. The couple lived in Des Moines, Iowa following their marriage, later moving to Minnesota for many years before making their home in Jefferson. Norman was a cement mason and a member of the Union. After retiring, he continued to do some cement work, along with some handyman projects. He enjoyed fishing, attending garage sales and cooking. His cooking specialty was spaghetti and meatballs.
