Graveside services for Norton Chayet will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, IA on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Memorials will be given to his family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Norton Barry Chayet, 82, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, at his home in Ankeny, Iowa. Norton was born on August 3, 1940, to George and Francis Ann (Elper) Chayet in New York City, NY. He graduated from the DeWitt Clinton High School, Bronx, NY in 1958. Norton served in the New York State National Guard for six years. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Anne Rothmeyer in New York City on January 31, 1966. Norton worked for Western Union in New York City, NY, AMREP in Rio Rancho, NM, Oscar Mayer in Perry, IA and for the Compass Group in West Des Moines, IA. He was a member of the Temple B'nai Jeshurun in Des Moines, IA. In death he rejoins his parents George and Francis Chayet. Left to cherish Nortons memory are his wife, Elizabeth; children, David (Kim) Chayet of Shorewood, MN, Jeffrey Chayet of Altoona, IA, Barry Chayet of Perry, IA, and Randi Peskin of Parkland, FL; nine grandchildren, Tiffany, Christopher, Benjamin, Lauren, Zachary, Kenadi, Alex, Melissa, and Noah; and a sister, Rosalyn Benson of New York City, NY.
