Octavio Medina

Octavio Medina was born May 11, 1965 in Zapotillo Villanue va zac Mexico to Rodolfo Medina Moncada and Amelia Medina Avila. Octavio died September 29, 2018 under hospice care in Des Moines after a long and very courageous battle with cancer. Octavio was a great helper to his parents, farming with his father, raising vegetables, caring for their animals and delivering the cheese his mother made throughout the area. Octavio married Rosalina Medina Sandoval and they were parents of one son, Octavio Jr. The family moved to Perry where Octavio started his own successful taco business. He enjoyed cooking, listening to music, dancing, working and watching soccer. His brother Hiriberto Medina preceded him in death. Octavio is survived by his wife Rosalina Medina; son Octavio Jr. of Perry; his parents Rodolfo Medina and Amelia Medina Avila of Mexico; his brothers Ignacio Medina and wife Maria Romeia of Mexico; Gumercindo Medina and wife Margarita Avila of Mexico; Hector Medina and wife Rufina Robles of Mexico; Osvaldo Medina and wife Mireya Avila of Mexico; Josue Medina and wife Martha Nunez of Mexico; his sister-in-law Olga Alvarez of Des Moines; sister Yesenia Medina and husband Javier Leanos of Perry; aunt Graciela Medina of Mexico and uncle Victor Alvalez of Mexico; other relatives and friends. Octavio muri el 29 de septiembre de 2018 bajo el cuidado de hospicio en Des Moines despus de una larga y muy valiente batalla con el cncer.
