Orlo Jacobs

Orlo Jacobs, 80, of Des Moines, passed away on March 4, 2021 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2021 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. Face coverings and social distancing are encouraged. A private graveside service will be held in the St. Charles Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for a later designation. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.caldwellparrish. Orlo was born December 21, 1940, in Creston, Iowa, the son of George and Fern (Souders) Jacobs. He graduated from Lorimor High School and later married Ruby Harrell. He was a farmer and also worked in printing for RR Donnelley. Orlo enjoyed farming and being outdoors. He liked watching Westerns and always kept his yard and house clean and well kept. Orlo is survived by his children, Randy (Lucinda) Jacobs of Truro, Gary Jacobs of Des Moines, and Tonja Stewart of Creston; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Fern Jacobs; brother, Walter (Janice) Jacobs; sister, Virginia (Gene) Decker; and sister-in-law, Sandy Jacobs.
