Palmer David Lee

Palmer David Lee was born on August 24, 1974 in Perry, lowa to John Charles Lee and Roberta Kay Owens Lee. During his high school years Palmer did the shotput and worked at Hardee's. He graduated from Perry High School in 1993. Palmer married Sunni Lynne McLaughlin in July of 1999. They were blessed with a daughter Mary. In 2003 they divorced but remained close. Palmer married Kristina Rae Burns in 2008 and they were blessed with a son Cody. Palmer lived in Perry most of his life and worked at Burger King and Selective in Waukee. Palmer enjoyed playing pool, darts, bowling, Skip-bo, fishing, cribbage, swimming, board games, and family game nights. He passed away on May 29, 2024 at Select Specialty at Mercy hospital in Des Moines at the young age of 49. Palmer was preceded in death by his Mother Roberta Lee, Grandmother Mary Owens and Julia Fleming Grandfather P.D Fleming, Grandfather Ernest Owens, Uncles, Raymond Owens, Robert Sheldahl, Ronald Owens and Ricci Owens and a Aunt, RoseAnne Phipps. Cousin Bobby Sheldahl,and Cousin Michael Riggen. He is survived by his daughters Mary Lee of Ogden, Angel Bunn of Bagley, and River Young of Pennsylvania; son Cody Lee of Bagley; grandson Malachi Jasper Hribar; Father John Lee of Dallas Center, Reva Owens of Adel. Sisters: Alta Howe (Tracy) of Dallas Center, Glenda Pappas (Chris) of Dallas Center, and Brenda Doepp (Pat) of Grand Junction, Cathy Sena, of Texas. Brother Johnny Lee (Kristi) of Texas; Nieces: Melissa Cox and Chelsea Quinn (Rob); Great Nieces and Nephews: Sky Conrad, Zoe Conrad, Bella Wanninger, Trenten Whiton, Mia Thomas, Mercedez Quinn, and Logan Quinn; Josh Sena, Caleb Sena, and Ester Sena. Great-great nieces: Elektra Conrad and Onyx Johnson; other relatives and many, many, friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the McCreary Community Center Senior Room from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of the arrangements.
