De Soto

Pamela Kaye Beasley Bach, 65, died Monday, November 18, 2024. Her wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Born June 30, 1959 to Bobbie and Zane Beasley in Baton Rouge, LA. Pam grew up in Shreveport. The family moved to Des Moines, IA in 1976 where Pam’s southern accent faded although she held onto “fixing to” and “y’all”. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and spent a semester at Drake University before joining the full-time work world.

Her work families included Drake McDonald’s, Briggs Corporation, Yellow Freight, Visiting Angels, and City of De Soto. Her church families included Pinecroft Baptist in Shreveport, Crestwood Baptist in Des Moines and De Soto United Methodist in De Soto. Many co-workers and church members were considered family, especially after Pam’s mother moved back to Louisiana in the early 90’s. She loved her friends and neighbors in De Soto, enjoying time on the City Council, various city Boards, volunteering at the Library, and helping part-time at the City Hall.

Her motto “Never get married, never have kids” fell to the wayside when she met Michael John Bach. They married July 18, 1991. Pam said marrying Mike allowed her to have children without labor, diapers or potty training. She enjoyed weekends and vacations with Josh while he was growing up. She was very proud of Brian, Shantyl and Josh. Mike’s family and extended family became Pam’s family. Over the years, Mike and Pam welcomed four-legged children Max, Maggie, Pee Wee and Dolly to their family. They were great companions, especially after Mike’s death in April 2017.

She was preceded in death by so many she loved, including her parents, grandparents, oldest brother, Ken, and husband, Mike. Left with good memories included brothers Rick Beasley (Shreveport, LA) and Rob (Chloe) Beasley (Ballwin, MO); stepchildren, Brian (Deb) Bach, Shantyl (Adam) Bach, and Josh Bach; grandchildren, Catie (Evan), Coleman (Casey), and Johanna; great grandson, Miles Hayden Bach, uncles James (Yvonne) Wright and Raymond (Jill) Brown; cousins, nieces and nephews; treasured friends and her spoiled rescue baby, Princess Ivy.
