Pamela Ann Wheeler, 49 of Van Meter, Iowa passed away Saturday, December 14th, 2019 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Pamela was born to Arthur & Donna (McCreery) Wheeler in South Bend, Indiana on August 8, 1970. Pamela was loving and compassionate to all; she touched many lives. She cared very deeply for loved ones and friends and was known for helping others even if that meant she went without. She will be remembered for her incredible strength and perseverance, even through the most difficult times. She enjoyed being with family the most, no matter where or what the reunion was called for; she was simply content just being close to her loved ones. She loved her children and grand babies and said often they will always have a special place in her heart. Pam had a passion for cooking and loved to make homemade meals with and for her children. She enjoyed old-school rock and roll; she often shared her fondness for music to anyone with open ears. Pam had an unforgettable laugh and had the gifted ability to make others laugh. Her favorite color, crimson, reflected her favorite football team, Alabama. She enjoyed watching sports, especially when her children played. Pam’s favorite quote was by Molly Brown, “I’m not down, until, I say I’m down.” How true that quote was for Pam. Even though she suffered most of her life with Crohn’s disease she had a strong desire to do more than her body allowed and made the most of what she could do. While her loved ones rejoice she is finally pain free, her absence has left a pain in their hearts. She will be deeply missed and always loved. Pam was a believer and loved the Lord. Her two favorite verses were: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
