Patrica Jean Charlet, 77, of Ogden, passed away Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines surrounded by her family.
Patrica was born in her grandfather’s house on September 25, 1946 to Harry Henry Sheets and Gladys Irene (Charlet) Sheets. She spent her childhood and most of her life in the town of Perry, and graduated from Perry high school in 1964. Patrica raised two children of her own, Michele and Melissa, but she also raised her niece, Tina Kinney, as if she was one of her own. She was known as mom or nanny to everyone that knew her, and she would give unconditional love to anyone that needed it.
Patrica dedicated her life to taking care of others. She worked her entire life as a CNA in various nursing homes including Spurgeon Manor, Perry Manor, and Kennybrooke. She was passionate about taking care of her patients and treating them with respect and love. Even after she returned home from work, Patrica made it a priority to take care of those around her, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In her free time, Patrica loved going to the race tracks, crocheting, camping, and collecting things. She was also a fan of a wide variety of tv shows from CSI and Law and Order to shows and movies on the Hallmark channel. Above all though, she loved watching Christmas movies and listening to Christmas music all year round. In her younger years Patrica enjoyed traveling with friends from her bowling league, and her favorite place that she visited was the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. Patrica made the most out of life and cherished any time she got to spend with those that she loved.
Patrica was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Shirley Petro, Jerry Sheets, Jacky Sheets, Johnny Sheets, and Diana Zenor; her half brothers, Roy and Bob Hurd; and her son-in-law, Doug Franz.
Those left to cherish Patrica’s memory are her two daughters, Michele Franz and Melissa Barr; her niece, Tina Kinney; her brothers, Dick (Sheryl) Sheets and Ron (Darcy) Sheets; her grandchildren, Brent Murphy, Justin (Tiffany) Murphy, Melinda (Anthony) Zutten, Zachary (Ashley) Barr, and Kaitlyn Barr; her 6 great-grandchildren, her cat, Alvin, as well as many other family members.
A celebration of life for Patrica will be held from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, February, 25th, 2024 at the Perry Elk’s Lodge. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for a future designation. Online condolences can be made at caldwellparrish.com.
