Patricia Ann Rickert

Patricia Ann Rickert, 75, of Adel, IA passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Karen Acres Health Care Center.

Patricia was born at Decatur County Hospital in Leon, IA on September 26, 1948 to Vern Williams and Barbara (Hartnell) Williams. She attended Mormon Trail high school in Garden Grove, IA and graduated in 1966. This is also where she met the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Ronald Rickert. The two were married on February 3, 1968 and spent over 50 years together.

Patricia worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years, and was a well-known staple at the Van Meter Post Office. In her free time she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, but there was nothing she loved more than spending time with her grandchildren. If any of her 4 grandkids had a sporting event or school performance, you could always count on Patricia being in the stands cheering them on. She cherished her family and any time that she got to spend with them. She will be remembered as an incredible mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald Rickert; her infant daughter, Michelle Rickert; her in-laws, Roy and Louise Rickert; her nephew, Mike Middlebrook, and her niece, Staci Middlebrook.

Those left to cherish Patricias memory are her daughter, Nicole (Jamie) Morey; her son, Clay (Gretchen) Rickert; her grandchildren, Devin and Savannah Morey, and Liv and Luke Rickert; her sister, Kay (Dennis) Middlebrook, her nieces, Carla (Shane) Housley and Mendy Middlebrook, as well as other extended family members.

A visitation for Patricia will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Adel Chapel, with a funeral ceremony beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Humeston Cemetery in Humeston, IA.
