A memorial graveside service will be held in the Winterset Cemetery at a later date, time and date to be announced. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Patricia E. Kuhns was born November 10, 1944 in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Fred L. and Laurrene (Robinson) Warren. She married David Kuhns on October 24, 1964 at the First Christian Church of Echo Valley in Des Moines. During her working career, Pat worked 20 plus years at the Sears, Roebuck and Company Catalog Store in Winterset. Most recently, she worked 10 years at Wells Fargo Financial in Des Moines. Pat and her husband were passionate about raising and showing quarter horses for many years. She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and was also a member of the Winterset Women’s Bowling Association. Besides her love for horses and bowling, Pat enjoyed reading and many fun times in Las Vegas. Most of all, Pat loved her family and she especially enjoyed time spent with her grandkids and loved to go to many of their activities, including ballgames and band concerts. Pat passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, December 6, 2010 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was 66. Pat is survived by her husband, David of Macksburg; two daughters, Shelly Kuhns (Dave Marker) of Winterset and Shannon Hamner (Brian) also of Winterset; a sister, Joyce Warren (David Cross) of Portage, MI; a brother, Richard Warren (Raejean) of Urbandale; three grandchildren, Savannah Marker, Tobias Hamner, and Olivia Hamner; an uncle, Warren Robinson (Wava) of Lincoln, IL; sisters-in-law, Barb Howard (Dean) of DeSoto and Dixie Herman (Gregg) of Illinois; a brother-in-law, Terry Kuhns (Terri) of Winterset; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her Schnauzer, Beau. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Fred L. Warren, Jr.
