Patricia (Hoffman) Lengeman, beloved sister, wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2022. She was one of five children born to Sophia Brinks and Albert Hoffman in Willey, Iowa on February 23, 1936. Pat was a trailblazer and creative mind, leaving behind a legacy of strong females and beautiful quilts. Pat was known for her determination being the first woman to hold a lineman position with Frontier Telephone Company in Fort Dodge, Iowa in the early 1970’s. She retired from Frontier after 23 years of service to the telephone company. Throughout her life, Pat enjoyed sewing and quilting. She had received several ribbons from the Iowa State Fair for her quilts and continued this interest into retirement. Family was very important to Pat. She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Alvin Lengeman and her brother Tom Hoffman as well as several nephews. She leaves behind her daughter, Pam Ackerson, and granddaughter, Courtney Ackerson. Pat is also survived by siblings, Lou Meister, Bev Rowedder, and Cliff Hoffman (Diane Hoffman). She was a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews that played a valuable role in her life and who will remember their Aunt Pat fondly. A celebration of life will be held on August 27, 2022 at Caldwell Parrish in Urbandale from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with all of Pat's favorite things. To honor Pat, in lieu of flowers, have a margarita and donate to help fight Alzheimer's with a tribute donation to the Alzheimer's Association in her name.
