Patty Morris

Patricia Ann (Patty) Morris, 87, passed away peacefully at home on January 9, 2025. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, graduated from Waukee Community High School, Waukee, Iowa, and married the love of her life, Patrick James Morris in 1956. She lived in Waukee for 55 years, and moved to Winterset in 1993 where she and Patrick settled into their new retired life. They were surrounded by nature at their home, where she was an avid reader, and also enjoyed traveling, needlepoint, bird watching, gardening, puzzles, and most of all spending time with her family and her friends from her Wednesday night supper group.

Patty is survived by her 4 children, Kevin Morris, Kristin Morris Devitte (Dennis), Kelly Morris (Cynthia Gipe), and Kyle (KC) Morris; 7 grandchildren, Jenny Higgins, Amber Smith, Jill Gentile, Chelsea Brown, Tommy Gentile, Kyla Morris and Dylan Morris; 3 great grandchildren, Olive Brown, Axel Morris and Kyler Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Morris; son, Kerry Morris; great grandson, Aiden Smith; parents, Ethel and Merrill Finchem; and brothers, Donald and Russell Finchem.

Patty was adored and loved by all who knew her, and was the glue that held her precious family together. She will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
