Patricia Schulte

Mass of Christian Burial was held for Pat Schulte 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry, Iowa with Father David Polich Officiating. A Vigil service was held 7:00 p.m. Monday at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry. Music was provided by Chuck Schott, and Myrna Smith was the Lector. The Eucharistic Ministers were Katie Schott, Winnie Rounds, and Carol O'Hare. The Gift Bearers were William Marlin Jr., Bayli Marlin, and William Marlin III. Pat's honorary casket bearers were: Shaun Schulte, Alois Becker, Rick Neumann, Norman Sanders, William Marlin, III, Timothy Becker, Ed Neumann, John Sanders, Michael Schadel, Rory Dirck, Steven Teague, Paul Sanders, Paul Schadel, Bob Schulte, Duane Bucklew, Chuck Howard, Rick Schadel, Jack Schulte, Jeff Schulte, and Gary Babcock. Her casket bearers were: Derek Schulte, Raymond Teague, Glenn Schulte, Harold Teauge, Rob Wenger, and Dave Tolsdorf. Burial was in Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Following Interment there was a time of lunch and fellowship at St. Patrick Catholic School. Patricia Louise Schulte, daughter of Alois F. and Mary I. Becker, was born December 31, 1942 in Portland, Oregon. She moved to Fonda, Iowa with her parents, one brother and two sisters at the age of two. She attended Our Lady of Good Council Catholic School, grades 1 through 12 from which she graduated in 1961. She graduated from the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa in 1962 with a Certificate in Business Machines and Clerk Typist. Pat moved to Davenport, Iowa and worked for Minneapolis-Honeywell in Bettendorf until 1963. She returned home and married Phillip E. Schulte of Sac City, Iowa at OLGC Catholic Church in 1963. They moved to Perry, Iowa where he was employed by Oscar Mayer and they were members of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Pat worked for a short time at Wiese Corporation as a secretary in 1963, was a homemaker from 1963 to 1984 and worked for Spellman Law Firm as a legal secretary from 1984 to 1996. Patricia Schulte was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Mary Ann Schadel of Michigan. Pat is survived by her husband, Phillip, her two children, Scott E. Schulte (Lisa) of Perry, IA; and Julie A. Marlin (Bill) of Safety Harbor, FL; 5 grandchildren: Shaun P Schulte (Jamie) of Bristol, VA; Derek M. Schulte, Jordyn N. Marlin, Bayli E. Marlin and William Marlin, III. She is also survived by her brother Ferdinand A. Becker (Virginia) of Arkansas and her sister, Rose Sanders (Larry) of Illinois.
